Below are the cuise ship wedding requirements below for St Maarten:
All documents should be submitted at least 6 weeks in advance so we can have time to submit them and have them verified (they're being very strict about the exact documents) and all documents must have an Apostille stamp/letter attached to them (except passports) so please make sure of the following:
- The couple have either an original or certified copy of their FULL birth certificates which state their PARENTS' NAMES, including their mothers' MAIDEN names. This is absolutely essential.
- Photocopy of PASSPORT, showing signature and photo.
- A certificate of no impediment (not older than 3 months) which can be obtained from their local City Hall (or in Britain from their registry office); this will state that a search has been conducted and no application for a marriage license has been found and they are therefore legally single and free to wed.
- In the case of divorce a certified copy of divorce DECREE ABSOLUTE (which must also mention the maiden name of the ex-wife).
- In the case of death of previous spouse a certified copy of DEATH CERTIFICATE, again which mentions maiden name of ex-wife.
- Witnesses – 6 are required for an outdoor wedding and they must send photocopy of passports.
Please note that Documents must be originals or certified copies with official stamp or raised seal. Also, your documents are not returned to you they are kept in St Marten by the census office, hence it is wise to send only certified copies of the requested documents above.
An Apostille letter is a letter which certifies that your document is correct and it will have a gold stamp/seal. It is not the same as the original stamp obtained on a certified document. Please contact us for the number to locate the office which issues the Apostile letter. |
